SEMIYA PAYASAM


Ingredients:
1 lt milk
1/4th cup condensed milk(optional)
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup Semiya / Vermicelli
cashewnuts
raisins
ghee
saffon - a few

Method:

Fry the vermicelli in ghee and keep aside. In a pressure cooker, add milk, semiya and saffron and pressure cook it for 2 whistles. Remove the lid after the pressure is off. Add sugar and condensed milk. Keep stirring it till the colour changes into light yellowish and its volume is considerably reduced. Add more milk if required. Fry raisins and cashews. Add it to the payasam. Flavor it with cardamom powder. Serve hot or chilled.
